    Grandfather Mountain

    Grandfather Mountain is both the tallest mountain in the Blue Ridge range (5964 feet) and a private, scenic attraction. privately owned, the mountain offers visitors attractions such as Mile High Swinging Bridge, Environmental Habitats for wildlife of North Carolina, a Nature Museum, a restaurant, picnic areas, and alpine hiking trails. The Mile High Swinging Bridge has been an attraction since 1952.

    Great Smoky Mountains
    This mountain range, that forms part of the southern Appalachian Mountains, is located in North Carolina and Tennessee. Here, and also in the Blue Ridge Mountains to the east, hydrocarbons produced by trees and other vegetation, as well as higher humidity in the area, produce a bluish tinge to the sky, even over short distances.
