South Mountains State Park

Located in Connelly Springs, about 12 miles east of Morganton, South Mountains State Park has over 40 miles of trails for hiking. The elevation around the park rises to 3,000 feet, and there is a waterfall that drops more than 80 feet. Fishing and biking are also popular activities here.
