The Linville Gorge has been dubbed the Grand Canyon of North Carolina. For 12 miles, it encloses the Linville River. It features a steep, rugged terrain, with rock formations, as well as pine and hardwood trees. Rock climbing, hiking, fishing, backpacking, and other recreational activies are available in the park.
